Grayson Housley Multi-Sport Athlete

Grayson Housley, class of 2024,  is a standout multi-sport athlete at Old Tappan High School in New Jersey, where she has made a strong impact across basketball, volleyball, and softball. As a senior leader on the girls’ Old Tappan teams during the 2023-2024 season, Grayson emerged as a key contributor and demonstrated significant growth in her game. Her leadership, energy, and determination on the courts and the field helped elevate the teams throughout the season.

Volleyball:

Grayson Housley has been a pivotal member of the Old Tappan High School girls' volleyball team, excelling as the team's libero. Throughout her high school career, she demonstrated exceptional defensive skills and leadership on the court. In the 2023-2024 season, Grayson achieved a significant milestone by recording her 500th career dig, a testament to her consistent performance and dedication. That season, she accumulated 183 digs, 23 assists, and 19 service aces, contributing significantly to the team's success. Her defensive prowess was instrumental in Old Tappan's strong performance and success. Grayson's commitment and skill have left a lasting impact on the Old Tappan volleyball program.

Softball:

Grayson Housley was a key contributor to the Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan (NVOT) softball team, demonstrating consistent performance throughout her high school career. As a center fielder, she showcased her offensive and defensive skills, making significant contributions to the team's success. Over her four-year varsity career, Grayson maintained a solid batting average of .354 and a slugging percentage of .494. Her offensive statistics include 84 hits, 68 runs scored, 61 RBIs, 12 doubles, 3 triples, and 5 home runs. Additionally, she exhibited speed on the bases with 34 stolen bases. ​

In her senior year (2023-2024 season), Grayson achieved a career-high batting average of .390 and a slugging percentage of .519. She recorded 30 hits, 24 runs, 17 RBIs, 4 doubles, and 2 home runs, along with 16 stolen bases. Her performance was instrumental in leading a young NVOT team. 

Grayson's leadership extended beyond her on-field performance. As one of the few upperclassmen, she played a crucial role in guiding a team that was predominantly composed of underclassmen. Her experience and mentorship were vital in maintaining the team's competitive edge during transitional seasons.

Basketball:

Grayson Housley was a dedicated and impactful member of the Old Tappan girls’ basketball program. Over the course of her high school career, she developed into a dependable presence on the court, known for her defensive tenacity, smart decision-making, and team-first attitude. As a senior during the 2023-2024 season, Grayson embraced a leadership role and delivered some of her strongest performances, showcasing confidence and growth in her offensive game.


Grayson's  relentless hustle and quiet leadership helped set the tone for her teammates, and she consistently brought energy and composure in high-pressure moments. Grayson’s contributions to Old Tappan basketball extended beyond the stat sheet, and her legacy will be remembered for the grit, heart, and commitment she brought to the program.

Old Tappan scored five sixth-inning runs to put the game out of reach. Averi Gallioto and Giselle Conway drove in two runs each. Old Tappan peeked over .500 with a 4-3 record. Jamie Farrington was the winning pitcher. Lucie Ortiz had three singles and drove in three runs for Bergenfield.
