Biography:

Jamie Farrington, Class 2025, has been a pivotal player for the Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan's softball team, the Golden Knights. As a sophomore in the 2022-2023 season, she showcased her pitching prowess by delivering a two-hitter in a commanding 19-2 victory over Midland Park, demonstrating early signs of her talent and potential. ​

By her junior year in the 2023-2024 season, Jamie's performance reached new heights. She pitched 119.2 innings, allowing 118 hits and 71 runs, with 43 earned runs. She recorded 130 strikeouts and maintained an ERA of 2.52. In May 2024, Jamie achieved a significant milestone by recording her 300th career strikeout, a testament to her consistency and skill on the mound. 

Entering her senior year in the 2024/2025 season, Jamie is expected to lead the Golden Knights to a spectacular season alongside her teammates. Jamie's dedication and performance have been instrumental in the Golden Knights' success, and her leadership is poised to leave a lasting impact on the program. ​

She opened the season with a big outing against perennial contender Ramapo in a 6-5 win where she struck out seven, walked two and gave up two earned runs. She then struck out 12 and walked one in a complete game shutout against Northern Highlands and tossed a five inning perfect game with 11 strikeouts in a 12-0 win over Demarest. She has 30 strikeouts, three walks a .78 ERA and just 10 hits allowed through 18 innings of work.

Photo Matt Kipp | For NJ Advance MediaFarrington tosses five-inning perfect game for Old TappanJamie Farrington retired all 15 Demarest batters she faced in a five-inning perfect game as Old Tappan knocked off its Northern Valley rival by a score of 12-0 in five innings in Demarest. Farrington struck out 11 Demarest batters as part of her 15 up, 15 down performance for Old Tappan (3-0). Old Tappan scored six runs in the top of the second inning and four runs in the third before tacking on two more in the fifth. Farrington was outstanding on the mound.
