Biography:
Darren Long is a unique 4 sport multi-sport athlete from Duxbury High School in Massachusetts, set to graduate in 2025. Throughout his career, he has showcased exceptional talent and dedication across football, basketball, track and field & go-kart racing.
Go-Kart Racing
Meet Darren Long, the go-kart prodigy, racing his way to victory! At just 9 years old, Darren began tearing up the track, displaying a natural talent for speed and precision. He racked up numerous wins, making a name in the junior racing circuit. With a fierce competitive spirit and an ever-growing collection of trophies, Darren has had his fair share racing stardom. He sure feels the need for speed.
Football
Darren has been an integral part of the Duxbury High School football team since third grade. In his senior year, he played as a safety, wearing jersey number 18. Duxbury went to 4 straight Championship games. Winning two out of four. Leaving Darren with two nice rings to add to his jewelry collection.
Basketball
On the basketball court, Darren contributed significantly as a senior during the 2024-2025 season. Darren Long played a pivotal role as a senior on the Duxbury High School varsity team, wearing jersey number 12. Standing at 5'11", he brought his agility and aggressive play to the court. Darren had honored to play his senior season alongside some of his life long friends, as Duxbury will graduate ten seniors in 2025. Darren Long's high school basketball career is marked by his commitment, skill, and leadership, leaving a lasting impression on Duxbury High School's athletic community.
Track and Field
In track and field, Darren demonstrated his athletic versatility by participating in running events. Notably, in his freshman year (2021-2022), Darren made an early impact by securing a spot on the school's all time freshman records list for the 110m hurdles. He achieved a time of 22.34 seconds, placing him ninth among freshman hurdlers in Duxbury High School's history. Darren demonstrated his athletic versatility by participating in relay events as well. He was part of the 4x200 meter relay team, along with teammates Alex Smith, Caleb Hoyt, and Ben Elliott, achieving a time of 1:45.98 in 2024.
Darren Long’s high school career at Duxbury has been defined by his rare versatility and commitment across football, basketball, and track and field. Whether locking down opponents as a safety on the football field, hitting clutch shots on the basketball court, or pushing for school records on the track, Darren has consistently brought intensity, leadership, and heart to every team he's been a part of.
