Old Tappan opened the season with a 63 to 39 win over Fair Lawn on Wednesday night.
Old Tappan jumped out early with a 20 to 6 first quarter and led 38 to 17 at halftime. The team played with pace, shared the ball, and stayed locked in on defense for four quarters.
Alexa Caunedo led all Old Tappan scorers with 20 points. Sienna Drullinsky followed with 12. Nina Caunedo scored 8. Christina D’Andrea added 6. Alivia Badurina scored 5. Katie Degennaro finished with 4. Sadie Murphy and Mauimi Quiros each added 3. Old Tappan had ten players appear, with balanced scoring across the lineup.
Joley Giordano did not score but made a clear impact. She brought force on the court, attacked rebounds, and won physical battles inside.
Fair Lawn was led by Stephanie Morano with a game high 21 points. Alexis Muscia scored 7. Alyssa Patino added 6. Maya Showfety finished with 5. Fair Lawn fought late but struggled to generate offense early.
Old Tappan improved to 1 and 0 with a complete team effort. Fair Lawn moves to 0 and 1.
