The Rams posted an 11-3 record in 2024 and earned a postseason berth for the first time in decades. 2025 season, the Rams are looking good for another deep playoff run. The University of Rhode Island Rams football team competes in the Division I FCS level within the CAA. The program has been building momentum under head coach Jim Fleming and aims to continue its upward trajectory into the 2025 season and beyond.

New Providence Completes Perfect Regular Season, Captures Patriot Silver Division Title Final: New Providence 32, Delaware Valley 7 Records: New Providence (8-0, 2-0 Big Central – Patriot Silver), Delaware Valley (5-4, 1-2 Big Central – Patriot Gold) New Providence finished its regular season unbeaten, rolling past Delaware Valley 32-7 to clinch the Big Central Conference Patriot Silver Division title. The Pioneers were sharp in all phases, scoring four first-half touchdowns to build a 26-0 lead by halftime. Quarterback Kevin Reilly led the offense with 137 passing yards, two touchdown throws, and a 37-yard rushing score. Jack Fitzgerald powered the ground game with 118 yards and two touchdowns, including a 71-yard sprint in the third quarter. Quentin Moore continued his strong season with four receptions for 104 yards and two touchdowns, while Drew Gullo added an 11-yard touchdown catch. Tight end James Keneally made one key 13-yard reception that extended a first-half drive and provided steady leadership on both sides of the ball. His physical play and composure set the tone for the Pioneers’ offense throughout the night. Defensively, New Providence controlled the line of scrimmage and limited Delaware Valley to just 80 rushing yards. Charles Maneely intercepted a pass, and both Fitzgerald and Gullo recorded sacks as the unit stayed disciplined and aggressive. New Providence starts the season with a dominant 42-7 road win over Gov. Livingston on Saturday morning. First Half The Pioneers set the tone early. A.J. Whitehead scored on a 2-yard run, then broke free for a 59-yard punt return touchdown to give New Providence a quick 14-0 lead. In the second quarter, Jack Fitzgerald added a 4-yard rushing score, pushing the margin to 21-0 at halftime. Second Half Quarterback Kevin Reilly connected with Daniel Porretti on a 64-yard strike to open the third quarter. Minutes later, Whitehead made the defensive play of the game, returning an interception 63 yards for another touchdown. Gov. Livingston’s only highlight came when Elijah Garcia sprinted 76 yards for a touchdown, cutting the deficit to 35-7. Whitehead capped his big day with a second 2-yard rushing score in the fourth.
